Aberporth Cadets

Cadets are given the opportunity at all levels to participate in rifle target shooting and we teach shooting as a target sport in the ATC not as a aggressive military Task.

Before Cadets are allowed to fire live rounds they undergo a dry training and safety program, this involves Weapons handling, Range Practices and all safety issues.

There are two types of weapon used by the ATC:

No8

No8 Rifle

L98

L98

The No8 Rifle is a 22” Calibre, Single shot, Bolt action rifle which is usually used on an indoor firing range.

The L98 Rifle is a version of the L95/SA80 Assault Riffle used by British Forces. It is also a single shot bolt action rifle but fed by a magazine which contains up to 30 rounds.
