COMMANDANT Air Cadets, Air Commodore Gordon Moulds has joined cadets and staff from No.3 Welsh Wing, Air Training Corps for a special parade inside the grand surroundings of Pembroke Castle

Accompanied by the Mayor of Pembroke, Councillor Keith McNiffe and President of No.3 Welsh Wing, The Venerable Canon, Air Vice Marshal Brian Lucas, the Commandant presided over the formal parade outside Pembroke Town Hall before advancing onto the castle grounds.

Following inspection of the front ranks of the parade the Commandant was treated to an afternoon display of the many activities available to Welsh air cadets, including kayaking, climbing, radio communications and archery.

Escorted by Commanding Officer of the No.3 Welsh Wing, Wing Commander Bob Wilson, the day was concluded with a demonstration of drill and music, with the castle walls providing some impressive acoustics for the final unveiling of the Corps Banner and Beating the Retreat.

Air Commodore Moulds said: “To say I was impressed with the whole event would be an understatement. The setting for the event was perfect and I really appreciate the staff and cadets effort in making this Review to memorable.

"The reputation of the Royal Air Force was significantly enhanced.

"I will never forget the impressive sight of over 250 cadets marching down the high street towards the magnificent Pembroke Castle being led by the Wing Band. The sight and sound of No.3 Welsh Wing significantly enhanced not only the reputation of the ATC but also the Royal Air Force.
